Ceredigion Young Farmers Clubs held their annual English Public Speaking competition at Felinfach Education Centre on Sunday the 8th of December. The competition was kindly sponsored by Hwylusydd Tai Gwledig Ceredigion Rural Housing Enabler. Thank you very much for your support.

The adjudicator for the Reading competition for members 14 years of age and under was Miss Tania Hancock, Pembrokeshire. 12 teams competed and the results were as follows:
Chairman – 1st Siôn Wyn Evans, Felinfach A; 2nd Lois Elisa Daniels, Felinfach B; 3rd Megan Williams, Lledrod. Reader – 1st Rebecca Rees, Pontsian A; 2nd Siôn Wyn Evans, Felinfach A; 3rd Lois Elisa Daniels, Felinfach B;
Team – 1st Felinfach A; 2nd Pontsian A; 3rd Felinfach B.

The adjudicator for the 16 years and under competition was Mr John Davies, Rhydyfelin. 14 teams competed and the results were as follows:
Chairman – 1st Buddug Horscroft, Pontsian B; 2nd Elin Williams, Lledrod; 3rd Martha Thomas, Bro’r Dderi A.
Speaker – 1st Hedd Dafydd, Llangeitho; 2nd Jano Evans, Caerwedros C; 3rd Sioned Fflur Davies, Llanwenog A.
Vote of Thanks – 1st Beca Jenkins, Pontsian; 2nd Cerys Silvestri-Jones, Caerwedros B; joint 3rd Megan Williams, Lledrod, Mali Evans, Caerwedros A and Gwion Hughes, Mydroilyn.
Team – 1st Pontsian B; 2nd Llangeitho A; 3rd Lledrod.

The Brainstrust competition was for members 21 years and under and the adjudicator this time was Mr Samuel Kurtz, Pembrokeshire. There were 4 teams competing and here are the results:
Chairman – 1st Briallt Williams, Llanwenog B; 2nd Gwion Ifan, Pontsian; 3rd Meinir Davies, Llanwenog A;
Speaker – 1st Beca Jenkins, Pontsian; 2nd Bleddyn Thomas, Felinfach; 3rd Rhys Davies, Llanwenog A.
Team –1st Pontsian; 2nd Llanwenog A; 3rd Felinfach.

Mr Dyfan James, Carmarthenshire was the adjudicator for the Senior Mace Debate for members aged 26 and under and there were 7 teams competing. Results are as follows:
Chairman – 1st Elen Jones, Llangwyryfon B; 2nd Meleri Morgan, Llangeitho; joint 3rd Meleri Davies, Llanwenog and Elen Davies, Pontsian.
Speaker – 1st John Jenkins, Lledrod; 2nd Cennydd Jones, Pontsian; joint 3rd Sioned Fflur Evans, Llanwenog and Lowri Jones, Lledrod;
Team –1st Pontsian; 2nd Lledrod; 3rd Llangeitho.

Congratulations to Pontsian YFC as they finished the day as winners gaining the greatest number of points overall and winning the Emrys Jones Challenge Cup, with Llanwenog coming 2nd and Lledrod finishing 3rd.
