Young Farmers Clubs is an unique movement because it’s a democratic movement and all of the decisions are made by the members. Committees play an important role within the movement and elected members from each club meet every month at Felinfach Education Centre to discuss important issues regarding the work of the movement.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee finalises the decisions that have been made by the sub-committees. 3 members are elected from each club to sit on the Committee. The Executive Committee is held at 8.45pm following the sub-committees on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.
Activities Committee
The Committee is a very busy committee and is responsible for organising all activities the movement provides for the members for example competitions, training and social activities.
Rural Affairs
The Rural Affairs Committee is all about issues that affect you as young person living in Rural Ceredigion including all things agricultural and environmental. The committee organises a number of challenges and trips. The Committee also organises the Field Day Competition, Stock Judging training evenings, Day out on the Farm for Primary School Children and also invite many people from different companies and businesses to give talks to the members.
Youth Forum
The Forum represents the views of all members who are 18 years old and under and ensures that the voice of younger members is heard at all levels. The Forum also campaign on a number of issues affecting young people as well as arranging events and activities. It’s also an excellent way to meet new friends, socialise and have fun. The most popular event that the Youth Forum organises is the annual ‘It’s a Knockout’ competition, they also have a small shop selling Pop and Crisps during different activities to raise money to go on trips!
Board of Finance and Management
The Committee is responsible for discussing the financial management and staffing of the organisation as well as making recommendations to the Executive Committee on the strategic development of the Y.F.C.
